Why we survey before we price in Bromley
In most areas a drawing of a standard house type is close enough to price from. In Bromley it frequently is not, because the house has been altered before, sometimes twice, and rarely with drawings that survived.
Walls have been moved, chimney breasts removed on one floor and left on another, and floor levels changed between original and extension. We look at what is actually there before we give you a figure, and we raise anything that does not match the drawing before it gets covered up rather than after.

One consequence of repeated alteration is a house full of recesses that are not quite anything. A chimney breast taken out upstairs but not down. A cupboard left behind a previous partition. An alcove that is 480mm deep on one side and 610mm on the other.
