Ebbsfleet: what to change first
The question we are asked most often by new Ebbsfleet owners is what is worth doing first, and the answer is nearly always the same. Internal doors and architrave, then storage.
Developer specification is not poor, it is priced. Hollow-core doors and 69mm architrave meet requirement and cost the least, and replacing them is the single most noticeable change you can make to a new house. Wardrobes come second, because new bedrooms are almost always handed over completely empty.
A different job two miles away
In the town centre terraces nothing is bare and nothing is standard. Rooms are narrow, chimney breasts eat the width, and any storage has to be built into the recess rather than stood in front of it.
